M+R (Moebius-Ruppert) was founded in 1922 by Alfred Moebius and Heinrich Ruppert. They rented rooms in the north of Erlangen and initially produced pencil sharpeners made of synthetic resin, magnesium, and die-cast zinc with 20 employees. Today M+R employs 60 people and is still family run. They are a staple in quality made office and school products worldwide. 

To manufacture quality products has always represented both a commitment and a goal. "Made in Germany" really means conceived, designed, and produced in Germany. This is the only way the company can assure the quality of their many sharpeners down to the smallest details and make sure that they reliably deliver to the highest standard for their customers.
