Ordinary Habit

Ecstatic Motion Puzzle by Priscilla Weidlein

$40.00 $30.00

Experience Priscilla Weidlein’s uncommonly lovely take on a quotidian afternoon. We love the many humorous hidden details that make assembling this puzzle the perfect antidote to boredom and creative stagnation.

Priscilla Weidlein is a multi-disciplinary artist, illustrator, and practicing reiki master. Her watercolor paintings employ the use of intricate pattern and vibrant color to transmit healing vibrations of joy and abundance. For her, painting is a meditative act — a joyful method through which to practice living in the present. Her studio time is divided between creating illustrations for products and companies she believes in and painting portraits for private clients. Whatever she finds herself doing, the common thread is a desire to inspire joy in others.

“This painting is a celebration of the annual shift from expressing outward (spring and summer) to turning inward (fall and winter). It was during such a crossover period that I painted this, and I gave myself permission to take all the time in the world on the intricate details. The scene explores the sensation of wonderment we can find inside ourselves when we sit and cultivate stillness. The title comes from a Rumi poem, ‘Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you...You are the universe in ecstatic motion.’” — Priscilla Weidlein

Ordinary Habit was founded with a simple purpose: to create artful objects, designed to be both fun and functional, that would help people access habitual moments of calm and connectedness. Founders Teresa and Echo Hopkins, a mother-daughter duo, believed in the transformative nature of something perfectly ordinary: daily play. They set out to create a debut product that would be simple to use, beautiful to look at, and easy to transport: a series of limited edition jigsaw puzzles that would function as both reason to gather together with friends and as an escape for individuals in search of quietude.

Ordinary Habit is building a company focused on the belief that cultivating mindfulness is essential to bring about indelible change. In continued support of their mission, they will be donating on a monthly basis to groups that support the emotional and mental wellness of Black and marginalized communities. As a start, Ordinary Habit donates to The Loveland Foundation, which brings opportunity and healing to Black women and girls.
