Daphnis and Chloe
Green Mountain Tea
These handmade bouquets of Mountain Tea are among the most elaborate products Daphnis and Chloe makes. It takes their most skilled workers an entire hour to put together just 15 of them. The southing, mellow sprigs of this extraordinary herb make a delicate herbal infusion, ideal for any time of the day.
Good quality Mountain Tea has a delicate, herbaceous flavor and is naturally caffeine-free. Use all parts of the plant. You’ll need 2-3 springs (1g) per cup, dosage on taste. Simmer for 5mins at 95C, covered. Strain and serve warm or at room temperature.
Mountain Tea flourishes on rocky slopes over 1.000 meters of altitude, with many Greek mountains being home to little known, local varietals. D&C's selection comes from a beautiful organic farm in Grevena. Their supplier was among the first to cultivate the green and purple-hued variety of the area, which has a significantly higher concentration in flavonoids, antioxidants, and phenolic content than its commercially available rivals.
Answering the Latin name Sideritis, this herb has traditionally served as a folk remedy for inflammation, gastrointestinal disorders, and the common cold. Recent research shows that its extracts can enhance memory and learning.

Daphnis and Chloe was established in 2013, in a small workshop right under the Acropolis Hill of Athens. The team's dream was to see the limited batch terroir herbs of Greece in the kitchens of home cooks worldwide.
Daphnis and Chloe come from a small country with a peculiar geographical distribution and variable micro-climates where Mediterranean herbs thrive. Studied by scientists and traded by farmers since the beginning of history, these little known ingredients have great culinary value. However, they rarely cross the borders of their places of origin.
The D&C team's job has become to travel the country for superior herbs and inspire farmers to believe in forgotten, heirloom varieties. They source from small organic farms across Greece, and they know their growers by their first name. Curating their plants’ journey from sourcing to shipping, the team makes sure they’ll maintain their magical properties all the way to your kitchen!
