The Illustrated Atlas of Architecture and Marvelous Monuments

$25.00

This unique architecture atlas shows the most remarkable buildings in the world. Children and adults will marvel in amazement.

Mali, in North Africa, is home to the largest building made out of clay; the structure only took one year to complete. For the construction of Neuschwanstein Castle, 465 tons of marble were hefted to the Alps to the building site. The Atomium in Brussels boasts the longest escalators in Europe. The largest mosque in the world is as big as 56 football fields. The Illustrated Atlas of Architecture and Marvelous Monuments presents a world of breathtaking buildings and their incredible stories through illustrated maps and engaging factsheets.

Sarah Tavernier and Alexandre Verhille have already deftly shown with Legendary Routes of the World that they are experts in showcasing the biggest and the best. Now, for The Illustrated Atlas of Architecture and Marvelous Monuments, they researched the longest bridges, tallest towers, the most impressive cultural sites, and plenty of curiosities. Exciting facts are woven together with a myriad of architectural styles; the material feats are skillfully and artfully placed upon bold maps, situating the constructions within a geographic context.

"Featuring a seamlessly stunning editorial design, the book is educative and fun, capturing the attention of both adults and the little ones alike."

Gestalten continues to actively reimagine the way in which publishing is approached. With their extensive range of titles, they not only seek to enhance and to enrich our reader's lives, but to continually engage with the surrounding creative landscape.

Their origin story began with a focus on the aesthetic, particularly that of graphic design and, over the last two decades, the scope of both their content and their expertise has widened. Today, using a myriad of observations of culture, people, art, and other intimate inspirational informants, Gestalten documents and anticipates vital movements in architecture, visual culture, design & fashion, escapism, food & beverages, travel, and contemporary art. In 2014, Little Gestalten joined the literary ranks and ensured that there was a place for readers of all ages within the world of gestalten.

The gestalten narrative exists beyond the textual realm; regardless of the medium at hand, gestalten wishes to inform and inspire their community. They welcome you to enter gestalten's world of creative culture whether between thyeir pages, indulging in images and films online, or at one of their international events. They look forward to the result: mutual inspiration.
